Parent Governor 2024

Please read the following statements from candidates carefully, then cast your votes for two Parent Governors at Burnopfield Primary School. Voting closes at 3:30pm on 21st November 2024.

A dedicated parent, and active member of our community, I am committed to ensuring a supportive, inclusive environment for all. Working in Public Health, I strongly advocate every child should have the best start in life. I bring a varied skillset, helping shape positive outcomes and represent parents’ voices effectively.

As a parent of a pupil at Burnopfield Primary, I am eager to support the school that has nurtured my son’s growth. My experience as a business professional at a magic circle law firm equips me with strategic decision-making and financial acumen to prioritise children’s needs and ensure long-term success.

A well governed school supports each child to thrive, whatever their needs. As a parent governor I would use my experience in strategic development, performance monitoring, community engagement and financial management along with strong interpersonal skills to ensure the best possible educational experience for all at Burnopfield Primary School.

Burnopfield Primary is a fantastic school, with a superb learning environment and I’d be honoured to help maintain and build upon its current success.  I have relevant knowledge and experience as a serving Police Officer; and a vested interest in ensuring high standards with my own children attending the school.

Since my child began his journey at Burnopfield, I have been nothing but amazed at the care, dedication and kindness on display at the school. I would love to help in any way I can to join the team and help shape the hundreds of futures under the care there.

My child currently attends the Nursery. I served as a parent Governor for 6 years previously at another school, whilst serving on other panels within. I hold a primary teaching degree along with additional SEND qualifications. I would like the opportunity to serve the local community and school again.

I understand the challenges facing schools, not only as a parent of three, but I have been a governor (overseeing finances) in another school and also currently work in a community primary.  I am passionate about maintaining high standards so all children receive the best education Team Burnopfield can offer.

Being an adopter with teaching experience enables me to view the cohort’s journey holistically. I have benefited from specialised training in supporting children with trauma and SEN and have previously supported a school through OFSTED and worked with the board of governors to appoint a new headteacher.
